This exquisite oil painting is wistful and beautiful. A Japanese scene, where a traditionally dressed woman stands on a bridge looking out over a calm sea at sunset, with gorgeous wisteria blooming overhead.
Oil on board, with the Windsor and Newton supplier's mark dating this to the 1930s, though it has a much older ambience. To be framed, or propped on a shelf or mantel.
The board measures 25cm tall by 18cm wide and the paint is in good condition, with some marks around the edge where an original frame has been historially removed.
