A really beautifully shaped blue and white soup tureen, large enough to make a statement but not too large to fit on the kitchen table. Antique transferware circa 1840, footed and with lovely handles and flowerbud finial, gently worn surface in places. A chinoiserie inspired pattern with temple, scrolled gates and lots of willows and foliage. Look at those handles - we see snakes' heads, what do you think?
Stands 10 inches high and is 11 inches handle to handle.
